Our Approach to Cabinet Design

Phase 1:

Discovery Consultation

The design process is the foundation of every successful custom cabinet project. During this stage, we work closely with you to understand your vision, preferences, and functional needs while ensuring your ideas align with the dimensions and architectural style of your home.

Consultations may take place in our showroom or at your home, depending on your stage of construction.

Early in the building process, meeting at our showroom is often most effective. Once framing, plumbing, or electrical work is underway, an on-site meeting allows for more precise planning.

To make the consultation productive, please provide:

• House plans
• Inspiration photos
• Door, hardware, and trim preferences
• Appliance specifications and dimensions

Phase 2:

Cabinet Design & Pricing

Following the consultation, our design team creates scaled digital drawings using specialized cabinet design software. These drawings reflect your requests while ensuring structural feasibility and practical functionality within your space.

If a requested feature is not practical or conflicts with appliance placement or room dimensions, we will make necessary adjustments and clearly explain the reasoning.

Once completed, you will receive:

• Digital design drawings
• A review summary outlining questions or clarifications
• A detailed price proposal based on the current design

Phase 3:

Client Review & Refinement

Careful review of the drawings is essential. We encourage you to examine cabinet heights, depths, shelving layouts, door styles, finishes, and specialty features.

If adjustments are needed, please submit revisions together whenever possible. Even small modifications can impact adjacent cabinets, storage features, or hardware configurations.

We are available to review drawings with you by phone or in person to ensure full clarity before moving forward.

Phase 4:

Change Orders & Final Adjustments

After receiving your feedback, we prepare a formal change order reflecting revisions and updated pricing. Revised drawings will be issued for approval.

In most cases, only one round of revisions is required. To maintain project efficiency:

• Submit revisions thoroughly and thoughtfully
• Avoid repeated back-and-forth changes
• Review each updated drawing carefully

Material costs such as lumber and plywood fluctuate, and final pricing reflects current material rates until drawings are formally approved.

Phase 5:

Approval & Production Release

Once you are fully satisfied with the design, you will sign off on the finalized drawings. This approval authorizes us to begin fabrication.

At that time, we:

• Enter your project into the production schedule
• Issue final shop drawings
• Order specialty materials

Changes requested after final approval may result in additional charges, particularly if materials have been ordered or production has begun.
